Every Baker Has a Story: Andrew from COBS Walnut Gate

by Yvonne Y | Aug 11, 2015

Meet Andrew: COBS Walnut Gate

Andrew is the franchisee of COBS Bread Walnut Gate in Langley, BC. At Andrew's bakery, product quality and community partnership are paramount. In fact, the bakery has Dough Raiser programs with eleven schools in the community. That means that anytime someone makes a purchase and mentions one of the participating schools, a portion of the sale is donated to the school.

Take 30 seconds to learn a little more about this baker's story:

What is your favourite part about running your own bakery?

Running a successful bakery is a very satisfying feeling in its own right.

How do you engage with the community?

I work a lot with the schools in the area through the Dough Raiser program.

Name your top 5 dinner party guests:

All family; they're the best dinner party guests!

If you could only choose one item to bake for the rest of your life, what would you choose and why?

White Dinner Rolls. I wish I could could have racks and cabinets full of them- the whole store!

If you hadn’t become a baker, what would you be doing?

I would still be working with grains and yeasts, but I'd be running a brewery!

What are some of your hobbies?

Playing guitar, writing songs, home brewing from scratch, and watching the Food Network.
