Join us for COBS Cares Weekend
It's said that 60% of learning at school happens before lunch. Without breakfast, concentration is diminished, academic performance can suffer, and in turn children lose confidence. The impact and importance of breakfast is immense, yet 1 in 5 Canadian children are at risk of school without breakfast. Breakfast Club of Canada provides a nutritious morning meal before school, in an environment that allows their self-esteem to grow and flourish.
Currently, Breakfast Club of Canada operates in more than 1,400 schools across the country with 407 clubs currently on the waiting list. With daily attendance of 163,000 children, more than 27 million breakfasts were served during the 2015 - 2016 school year.
COBS Bread is pleased to be partnering with the Breakfast Club of Canada (the Club) for the third year! From September 16 through 18, $1 from every COBS Bread sandwich loaf sold across Canada will be donated to the Club. Last year’s campaign raised $75,000 and this year’s goal is $100,000. Learn more about our partnership with Breakfast Club of Canada.
COBS Bread also supports Breakfast Club of Canada through their End of Day Giving Program, where school volunteers pick up bread at the end of the day at COBS Bread bakeries. Currently, over 30 bakeries across the country provide bread to school breakfast programs.
