Brighten Your Day with the newest addition to our Scones line-up: the bright and tropical Strawberry Passion Fruit Scone! With warmer weather and brighter days, we wanted to ask our Head Baker, David, what his thoughts are on our newest flavour.
Using strawberries and passion fruit puree, this scone is different from all our other flavours of scones with its vibrant flavour of passion fruit cutting through the scone mixed with juicy strawberries and smooth white chocolate chips. Why did we add this flavour? The fascination with incorporating strawberries to our berry line-up was how David thought of this scone and, with his wife being Brazillian, adding a tangy household staple such as passion fruit was a no-brainer!
Our Strawberry Passion Fruit Scone uses our scone dough with hand folded diced strawberries and topped with a freshly made passion fruit glaze to add a sweet-tart flavour. We went on a search to find the best passion fruit purée and we landed in South America with a glaze made from passion fruit grown in Peru!
David’s go-to scone? The Strawberry Passion Fruit Scone served plain or even halved lengthwise and topped with a fruit-filled sorbet to make it a sweet springtime treat.
