It’s been a busy time at COBS Bread. In March and April, we opened six new bakeries- one in BC, two in Ontario, three in Alberta and one in a new city and province- Winnipeg, MB!
Our bakeries are owned by local entrepreneurs with a passion for bringing fresh, healthy bread to their customers and giving back to their communities. That is why with each bakery opening, COBS Bread hosts Community Day. Community Day provides our franchisees with an opportunity to partner with a local charity and on Community Day, 100% of sales are donated to that organization. We’d like to provide you with a look at one of our most recent Community Days.
Community Day in Fort Saskatchewan
In Fort Saskatchewan, AB, proud new bakery owner Angela decided to donate to Boys and Girls Club of Fort Sask. On Friday, March 23rd, the community of Fort Sask came the town’s newest bakery and contributed to one of COBS Bread’s top 10 Community Days, raising over $5,100 for the Club.
“I chose the Boys and Girls Club because we have a heart for children– especially since we have three of our own,” said Angela. “Kids are vulnerable and an establishment like this club does wonderful things, especially for kids with less opportunity. Kids need food and security, and I think the Boys and Girls Club does a great job of providing both.”
Needless to say, the BGC demonstrated their appreciation when they were presented with the BIG cheque on Tuesday, April 25th. It’s faces like these that make us so proud to work with wonderful franchisees and organizations in the communities in which we do business. Thank you, Angela, and everyone at the Boys and Girls Club of Fort Sask!
