Five Family Friendly Weekend Ideas

Whether you’re celebrating Family Day, Louis Riel Day or Heritage Day this long weekend we know how hard it can be to find an activity that everyone loves. Here at COBS we know families, we even have our own Family Faves range! So we’ve come up with five ideas to keep the whole family interested this weekend. Keep scrolling…

Family Breakfast

A great way to start the day is to get everyone involved with making breakfast. We’ve got some great kid friendly recipe ideas on our website. No matter what breakfast gets made it will taste all the sweeter having the whole family involved.

outdoor adventure

Just because it’s February doesn’t mean you have to stay inside. Wrap up warm and go on an outdoor adventure! If you’re lucky enough to have snow, why not get on the slopes. From skiing to snowboarding to tobogganing there’s something for all members of the family. Nice weather? Grab those bikes and pack up your bags with a COBS Bread picnic to keep you well fueled throughout the day.

Local activity

Make the most of the weekend and go somewhere new in your local area. Have an aquarium you’ve never visited? Indoor mini-putt? Have an art exhibition in the town you haven’t visited yet? Get all the family to write down one thing they’d like to do in the area and try check off the list by the end of the weekend. Have a COBS Bread in your area? We’re open all long weekend to help quash any family cravings.

Movie Marathon

Nothing says family weekend more than a movie marathon. Grab the freshly baked snacks and treats from COBS and cozy up on the couch for the day. Having a trilogy of films is a great way to keep the whole family interested and wanting more. This works well for any tv series as well. The longer, the better. It is the weekend after all!

Make Memories

Whether you are exploring and adventuring all day or simply spending quality time at home, anytime spent with family is precious. Take photos with the family to have for years to come. Printing off photos and scrapbooking is another fun way to spend a weekend. Flipping through actual pages is a great way to preserve photos not just in a digital space.

Did you know that COBS Bread bakeries are open all long weekend long for your fresh baked bread and treats needs?
