Get Ready Kleinburg! A New COBS Bread is Here

Meet our newest franchisees, Reinaldo Do Amaral and his wife, Shyamini! These two are a force to be reckon with and we’re so excited to have them start this next exciting venture with COBS Bread!

As experienced business owners, Reinaldo and Shyamini are taking their 20 years experience in food service and finance to drive their success with their new bakery. Relocating to Canada opened up new possibilities and opportunities for Reinaldo and Shyamini to explore. Among the various franchise options, COBS Bread stood out by far! The commitment to freshly baked products made daily, strong support provided to franchisees, and the brand’s deep involvement in their communities were all key pillars that made the decision easy to join COBS Bread!

Reinaldo and Shyamini are ready to step into this next role with their first COBS Bread location, and they’re excited to establish a strong team and bring delicious fresh baked goodness to Kleinburg.

When did you join the COBS Bread family? Why did you decide to open a COBS Bread bakery?

We began our journey with COBS in the spring of 2022. We fell in love with the products the first time we tried them at COBS Bread in Collingwood. When we started exploring franchise opportunities, COBS stood out to us—mainly because of its high-quality products and the strong concept behind the brand.

What did you do before working at COBS?

For more than 10 years before relocating to Canada, we ran a pizzeria in Boston, Massachusetts. Currently, we also own and operate our second restaurant, a pizzeria in Flesherton, ON.

What are you looking forward to about your new bakery?

We are most excited about bringing high-quality, freshly baked products to our community and building relationships with our customers. The idea of creating a warm and welcoming space where people can enjoy fresh bread and treats every day is something we truly look forward to. We’re also excited to be part of the COBS Bread family, benefiting from the strong support system and giving back to the community through various initiatives. Most of all, we can’t wait to share our passion for great food and exceptional service with Kleinburg!

Before joining COBS, were you much of a baker?

Yes, before joining COBS, we had experience working with dough through our years of running pizzerias. While bread baking is different from pizza-making, we’ve always enjoyed working with fresh ingredients and creating high-quality products.

We both love cooking and baking, and we enjoy experimenting with different foods and recipes. At home, we always cook and bake fresh from scratch, which has deepened our appreciation for high-quality ingredients and handcrafted food.

The transition to baking with COBS has been an exciting learning experience, and we’re thrilled to bring our passion for great food into this new venture!

How are you planning on getting involved in the community?

We believe that being part of the community goes beyond just running a business. We plan to get involved by supporting local events, partnering with schools, hospitals and charities, and donating unsold bread to those in need through COBS Bread’s End of Day Giving program. We’re also excited to build relationships with our customers, support local initiatives, and find meaningful ways to give back to the community.

And a couple of questions, just for fun!

If you were a treat or loaf from COBS, which one would you be and why?

If we were a treat or loaf from COBS, we’d be the Sunflower Flax Sourdough—strong, dependable, and full of good energy! Just like this wholesome and hearty loaf, we believe in hard work, resilience, and bringing people together over great food. It’s a bread that’s both nourishing and classic, much like our approach to business and community—grounded in quality, care, and a little extra warmth in every interaction.
